Why are you running for Commissioner?
One of my favorite quotes is from President Kennedy: “Ask not what your country can do for you…ask what you can do for your country”. I believe strongly in the ideal of public service, of giving back to your community, and of trying to leave a better world for your kids. I believe my leadership and experience – both in business and in the community – can benefit the county and help our area attract business, retain our young people, and make Clearfield County a go-to destination for job-seekers and families.
You promised you’d only run for two terms max. Why?
I think term limits are a good thing. I’ve seen far too many people in government lose touch with their constituents over time, becoming stagnant and closed-minded. I’m not looking for a career – I have a good job and a useful degree, and I have other long-term goals for my life. Plus, eight years is a LONG time…frankly, if I cannot help get things done in eight years, then someone else should give it a try.
What is your platform? What are some things you want to see changed?
Please see my platform page for specifics.
You’ve promised to run a positive campaign, with no attacks or negative comments about your opponents. Isn’t that a bit out of touch with the reality of politics in 2019?
I’ve talked to a lot of folks from all ends of the political spectrum, and one thing I hear over and over again is how everyone is tired of finger-pointing and mud-slinging. I believe we have to lead by example – if I run a positive campaign and the voters reward that, then perhaps that will lead to other campaigns staying positive. It’s time to bring basic decency back to politics, and that starts at the local level.
I want to donate, volunteer, or get more information. How can I do that?
Great! Please see our how to help page for more info.
